Me and my wife here the other day, and we were TOTALLY surprised. This place has some of the best most creative rolls I've seen in Miami. If it wasn't for the spinache shitake served at Tsuki Sushi in Doral; this would be the best sushi in Miami.

This little sushi shop has my favorite roll ever! Love the Zonie roll! So yummy! The customer service is excellent and the food is fresh and amazing! The only thing that sucks is that they close for a few hours between lunch and dinner so check out their hours before driving over!

First five star rating goes to Fujiya, why? staff is genuinely nice. everyone says hi. Everyone. They seat you quick. get drinks out even quicker. they start you off with hot towels. really hot. short and sweet, i'd rate it for 1. Service: they've never let me down. EVER. Fast and attentive service. Questions with your order (if any)? Faster fix. And most importantly, they were able to break up the check for individuals with no problem. 2. Great quality food: spicy fish, miso soup, sushi rolls. always fresh, no fishy smell. yumsauce. 3. Service again: it's a family owned restaurant and they make up for the dated decor with their smiles. I'm sure that will be one of the most memorable things. Especially since they have not let me down. 4. Low pricing: Sushi around Miami is easy to come by, but pricing paired with quality is hard. (Ra on Sunset and US1 is also good-but I'd prefer to go there during happy hour when most things are half off) 5.Menu diversity: Being there for ages on Kendall, they've had a menu that couldn't let anyone down. I've also been there with a group where someone even asked to create a sushi roll they weren't sure was on the menu and the staff did it with no problem. what sweethearts! YUM YUM YUM.

The first time I came here was a Monday because Rock-A-Bangkok was closed. It was so-so and our meal was made up of mostly different kinds of rolls. I did also have two pieces of hamachi which were melt in your mouth. So the second time, i ordered takeout because it was a Wednesday and late and I didnt want to go far. I figured ordering real sushi was safe (i.e hamachi from first visit). I was wrong. so disappointingly wrong gave me a disgustingly thick eel sauce instead of soy. O-toro was uber chewy and hamachi smelled really fishy. Rice was not sticky at all. Also got the Ebi ten appetizer which was so-so. I will never ever eat sushi from here again.

Adorable staff! Always greeting and friendly and wishing us a great day upon leaving. Warning us with charm, "Don't burn yourself it hot!" This place has so much personality! I'm also a huge fan of the food. Fantastic sushi with a copious amount of different rolls to choose from. Perfect for sushi fanatics like myself and even for beginners who need to stick with less adventurous rolls. Can be pricey, just monitor your plate!

Hidden gem in Kendall!! Never been dissapointed... here's what I always order: Tuna Nachos, Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (xtra cilantro special sauce on side) Exctassy Roll, BCBS Roll & High Potency Roll. They are all so nice =)

just got back from doing lunch at fujiya. i had been once before and remembered that i liked, so it was nice to go again. i was with 14 other people and the place is pretty tiny, so i'm sure we were a handful. i got one of the lunch specials and 2 pieces, here's the breakdown... ginger salad- eh, so so. chicken katsu w/side of eel sauce- mmmm. tasty. salmon teriyaki- mmmm. tasty. california roll- eh, so so. toro- not that great, a little chewy. unagi- delicious. the location blows, in a kendall strip mall. have i said i hate kendall yet...cause i do. i really really do. it's not that nice inside. but it's not that expensive and the food's pretty quality. oh, the staff is super sweet (our waitress even split up the check w/out any complaints). so all-in-all it was pretty good. and actually, probably the best sushi i've had in the kendall area. i'd go back again, but only if i were in the area.

Fujiya is my favorite sushi place. The staff always remember me and are always very nice and attentive. If you've ever been here you'll notice on your first visit the showers of "Hello, Welcome!"s you'll receive on your way in and "Goodnight, Thank you"s on your way out. They are the sweetest! GREAT SERVICE. Without an ounce of attitude or inconvenience in their tone one can call in an order just 10 minutes before closing and they will be happy to prepare it for you. (I've had to do that on a couple occasions in the past) If ordering for take-out, be sure to specify if you prefer low sodium soy sauce. Most places (including Fujiya) serve regular soy sauce by default. I really appreciate that they NEVER charge more for brown rice! Woot woot! Here are my favorites from Fujiya; * "Pascal Roll" * "Crunchy Spicy Tuna" (NOT to be confused with the Spicy Tuna. Be sure to say CRUNCHY first...it's a completely different roll!) Oops *House Salad - when dining in they bring you the bottles of Honey Miso Dressing and Orange Ginger so you can poor it on your self. Awesomesauce!! *The sashimi tastes fresh and is served in good-sized portions. Unfortunately, not everything can be perfect. I ordered the Chicken Katsu once. Although the chicken was a nice portion and was perfectly fried, the sauce was entirely too salty. I squeezed the juice out of the fresh orange garnish to sweeten it. It helped some. I also didn;t enjoy the banana tempura because it was under fried- very pale looking and the batter wasn't seasoned at all. :/ Don't forget they are closed all day on Mondays and they are closed daily between 2:30pm and 5:30pm :(( Overall this is a great place to come alone, with friends, with family, or even on a casual date. They don't have any outdoor seating but they have a good amount of seating in their small space. Check out the cool group table to the left when you come in! Oh and don't forget to ask for the separate sushi roll menu. They have several more options there.

This seems to be a popular lunch spot in the area on weekdays, and is quiet during dinner time. You'll never have to wait for a table. Fujiya can be a real hit-or-miss experience - at times the sushi is exceptionally fresh, while others you're hit with the stale fish smell right when you walk in. One visit in particular, the friendly server thanked my group for our patronage about 80 times during our visit ... It was that dead in there. It's cheaper than nearby Ruson and Sushi Sake, but it's also older and leaves much to be desired. For a quick to-go order or a no-frills sushi night without a wait, Fujiya is your place. If you're looking for ambiance, keep looking.

GREAT SERVICE. Seriously THE nicest people anywhere. And the Sushi chefs are so cute. They all always male you feel so at home here. very good sashimi and sushi. Try the Crunchy Spicy Tuna with krabstick added. The best! The house salad is delish and they bring out 2 dressings for you to serve yourself! (honey miso and orange ginger both super good) The Pascal roll is also really good. I've enjoyed a glass of plum wine with a combo dish and taken home leftovers. Such a great sushi place in Kendall. I love Fujiya! (Located in the plaza with the Taco Bell)

I've been coming here for more than 20 years. The sushi is "amazingly fresh" and the service is really good. Try the "Kia san-sai" (squid) Delishhh.

My favorite place to grab sushi. Always friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. If you visit you absolutely MUST have the sushi! My favorite is the St. Thomas roll, but honestly, everything is good and I have never left disappointed. Also try the Takoyaki, it's good and not something you get to try at every Japanese restaurant.

This place has charm like no other. The staff are so lovely, considerate, caring. This place feels like home. Food is delicious. I used to live walking distance from this place, I miss that so much! Now I visit whenever I can.

I have gone to many Japanese/ Sushi restaurants and this is probably one of the worst. Lack of flavor and presentation. Service although was good, but I would never go again.

This place is amazing! I've been coming here for so many years and I'm never disappointed. I always leave with my belly satisfied. The service is excellent each time. They always greet you and they always smile. All the staff speaks Japanese! That is so awesome. Age-nasu is so delicious. Their sushi/sashimi alecarte are always fresh. My favorites are the uni, toro, o-toro, amaebi, conch, Octopus and eel. I recommened the SP 1. It comes with selections of sushi, sashimi, tuna rolls, and shrimp tempura and vegetables. It also brings soup or salad. I always select the salad because of their dressing. The miso is so delicious! It is homemade too.

Walked into this packed restaurant on a Sunday night at 7 p.m. and was instantly greeted by a nice server across the restaurant. She pointed to a table that was close to the door, but it was hard to get around because the restaurant is tiny and the tables are very closed together. Didn't get menus for a while, but drinks and hot towels came fast. Our server didn't take our order for at least 15 minutes, but I don't care about stuff like that. I enjoy my husband's company, but I mention it because I know this is important to some. Food came out kind of slow too and tasted okay. I was reading the other yelp reviews and looking at the photos and got excited this may be a good sushi place around this area... and I was disappointed. Not bad. Not good.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. I decided to check this out after a follower yelper mentioned that she comes here. My wife, 4 yr old, and I went this past Sat around 2:30pm and we sat at the sushi bar. There was a big party of 10+ in the side of the restaurant but besides them had the place to ourselves. In my opinion it's really hard to screw up sushi. Only way to really mess it up is if the sushi chef is totally incompetent, seafood/fish is not fresh, or bad service. I ordered some edemame for the 4 yr old (She had Mcdonald's for lunch). For appetizers I ordered 2 pieces of Uni for me, 2 spicy tuna roll, and a salad with ginger dressing to order. It all came out pretty fast. Uni and spicy tuna roll were on point! My wife is still a beginner sushi connoisseur, so I still have to order some beginner rolls for her, lol. I got 1 rainbow roll, 1 Miami heat roll (Had to we just wont the East the night before, dragon roll, and JB roll. I usually only order 3 rolls for us, but I ordered 4 to take some as an appetizer before dinner. They were all so good and fresh we at them all! If you are in west kendall, off of Kendall drive and 137 ave, check them out!

Fujiya, im my estimation is your typical Izakaya type restaurant conveniently located in west kendall. They are the real deal, 100 percent Japanese menu. The owners are Japanese and Korean. The decoration is reminiscent of the typical Edo Style seen in Tokyo. They have a nice selection of sakes. I usually go there for lunch on the weekends and see the usual regulars. They have an incredibly loyal client base. Now on to the food, to me the most authentic in the area. There are no mistakes when placing the orders for your favorites.

One of my favorite restaurants in Kendall. I have been going to this place for years but lately find myself coming here twice a week. The service is great and they are so friendly. You are greeted when you walk in and thanked when you leave. The food itself is always good and very consistent. They have great lunch specials and the sushi always taste fresh. One of my favorite dishes is the Udon soup or Mega 2 roll. There really isn't anything you can go wrong with.

  • Ian T.

Entering the restaurant, its definitely looks like the family-run, homey style place it is. Nothing fancy, but the staff immediately greeted us from across the restaurant. Half the people there seemed to be regulars, and knew the staff well -- which is always a good sign. It was. The sushi and sashimi was fresh, the rolls packed firmly, and the ingredients well balanced. My wife's fish miso was rich and warming. We felt so confident, we ordered some tempura, and the shrimp were fresh and firm, the tempura wasn't soggy or oily; it was perfectly crispy. This isn't fancy sushi, it's homestyle and feels like something you'd find in one of the older neighborhoods of Tokyo. The owner also takes her food into her own hands, as she is behind the sushi bar. We are definitely coming back.

3.5 stars. I'm a big fan of sushi. And this place is above average. Had dinner there tonight for the first time. All the sashimi was fresh. The service was good. Sushi chef didn't say a word to us, but it was all good. The server is half Japanese and Cuban, she was nice. Over all it was good.

There's a lot of sushi places in kendall area , this one 1 to 10 for me 7 , I just order , sex on the beach, miami heat and fried chicken rice, not bad , not the best, a lot of places better then this one. $ 39 dollar for this, it's a little pricey just for that.

Came here with some co workers for lunch. You walk in the door and you are greeted like an old friend who they are excited to see again. I had read the review for the Ramen and just had to check it out. I first tried the broth. It had a lot of flavor but was a bit on the salty side for me at first and then it started to grow on me and before I knew it I practically ate the entire bowl of noodles and broth. I am sure that I will pay for it later in water retention but it was worth it. The oodles of noodles were cooked perfectly. It was the first time that I have had Ramen that was not in a packet. I enjoyed it and I would get it again.

I had previously gone with a friend for lunch and couldn't remember anything bad about it so I went for dinner with another friend. We ordered the Miami Heat roll which was pretty good, not amazing but good. The rice was too sticky so consuming one piece took some time..... It was almost like a game "how long to finish eating the rice stuck to your teeth?" Their eel sauce was horrible, it tasted burnt and I don't even know if that's possible for eel sauce. Their reduced sodium soy sauce was ridiculously salty. They definitely don't use kikoman which is THE brand to use with sushi in my opinion. We ordered a noodle dish which was meh. Better than the sushi a little spicy which I didn't mind but too much bok choy and not enough of the other veggies or noodles. We paid $32 for the noodle dish, the sushi, and the 2 beers which wasn't bad. The place was run by Asians so you figure it's more legit than other places. They have about 10 tables or so and had more than half full so at least you know their food gets rotated often at least on Friday nights. The service was ok until they kicked us out. I understand that people want to close and go home but customer service is also expected when you go out to eat. The lady was in such a rush to get us out that she took out cc receipts before we even got a chance to sign them. The only thing left for her to do, after coming to our table and informing us they were closing the kitchen was to put our purses on our shoulder and escort us out while yelling "don't let the door hit you on the way out." Maybe you can come earlier in the day you get better customer service but I think you can get better sushi and food overall for what we paid. There are tons of new places with better customer service and food. Won't be going there again.

I loved the crunchy spicy tuna roll, very fresh and tasty. I wish they had a more extensive menu online. I would like to try more rolls, but I don't know what to have. You can't beat the service and the price.

  • Food F.

I give the place 5 stars not for the decor, but for the amazing quality of food and service. This is one of the 3 best Japanese restaurants in south florida by far. They have authentic sushi items not found in many other places. By the way, for all you sushi lovers. Sushi Rolls are not Japanese and are just a product created for the mass market drenched in mystery sauces and stuffed with unnecessary things. In japan you would get laughed at for trying to order a roll.

  • Lilian F.

I've been so many times that I've lost count. Not only the food is great but the staff is very nice and welcoming as well. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Kendall. *The ramen is amazing. That is for noodle fans like myself.

Fast lunch service, good food and great for kids! I stopped by the other day for the first time with my 6 year old and he loved it. I ordered the chicken katsu for my son off the kids menu and the kanisu and volcano roll for myself... My son loved the plating and the fact they gave him chopsticks he could actually use. My 8 year old now wants me to bring him too! Staff was very attentive. Definitely planning on taking all my kids again :)

  • Soraya-Miguel A.

After living in Japan for several years (military) I am constantly looking for that familiar authentic taste. Fujiya has it. Besides the delicious foods, sushi, sashimi, and kid friendly menu, the staff actually speak and are Japanese! We had the crunchy tuna roll and philly salmon rolls, kids had fried chicken plate that comes with rice, broccoli and carrot and two pieces of fruit. The kids loved it and so did we! Besides that. The staff were extremely nice, even when we walked in just before closing. They were polite and still took our order.

I love this authentic Japanese gem in kendall. They always have fresh sushi ,uni, toro, amebi, ikura, and homemade tamago!

    (5)
  • Jennifer L.

Offers great specialty rolls and excellent sushi. The prices are fair and service is excellent. The overall atmosphere is cozy and intimate. The only item we ordered that we did not like was the Udon noodles, which took very long to come and tasted like it was made from one of those cheap precooked noodle packages. Other than that you can't go wrong!

Family owned awesomeness! Had the lunch box. I love sampling a bunch of different foods and their $10 lunch box was just that! Salad with explosive dressing California Roll Meat whose name I can't pronounce Dumplings with name I also can't pronounce People were super nice, food was excellent, I'll be back soon.

My family and I have been eating sushi here for well over 10 years. It is one of the best sushi restaurants we have ever been to. Small location and friendly environment. The staff is always nice. I absolutely love their Mega I Roll, it's their cucumber roll. Highly recommend.

I love Japanese food! Which includes sushi, noodles and savory dishes. This place has them all. Lets start with some things that separate these Fujiya with almost all other Sushi/Japanese restaurants. 1. Fujiya is owned and operated by a Japanese family, which means it is authentic and holds Japanese standards. I am sure you don't eat Vietnamese Lasagna or Latvian Tacos. Its for that same reason I don't eat Chinese/Thai/Asian like sushi. I have never had a piece of questionable fish or any other item for that matter that I was not %100 percent happy eating. 2. Sushi is an art not something that you learn in 6 months on a cruise ship no offense to anyone that likes that type of thing but, its true. I said it. The "itamae" or chef in this restaurant has trained for many years in Japan , giving him a special knowledge and skill of his craft that I have not found anywhere else in Miami. 3. I enjoy the occasional role like anybody else. At Fujiya they have ever type of role you can think of but what I enjoy the most is the traditional stuff. This is where Fujiya shines. They have all standard dishes and quite a bit of not so standard like "ankimo"yummm!!! 4.The service never disappoints! I cannot stress this enough every time that I that I have been there I am always treated like a rock star! The staff is extremely friendly and always knows exactly what I am going to order. If you are skeptical try this simple experiment. Go to your usual sushi spot and order a single piece of "Saba "provided they serve it. (Most places don't carry it) I urge you to do the same at Fujiya and compare. How can it a simple piece of sushi vary so much in quality, texture and flavor after all its just a few ingredients. The reason is the attention to detail that goes into every morsel that they serve you. In conclusion, Fujiya is a special place that serves top quality Sushi and Japanese fair at an affordable price. I recently went to San Francisco and was expecting to find superior Sushi boy, was I pleasantly surprised. I have superior Sushi right on Kendall Drive and you know what, it keeps my family and I, coming back to Fujiya again and again. 5 stars all the way!

This is my home away from home, it doesn't get any better that Fujiya. Service and Japanese quality sushi. I have been a loyal patron since day one!

Nice sushi chef and waitress but the fish was not fresh at all and the rice was old and hard. Would not go back. Also, a bit afraid I'll get sick from the clearly old sushi

  • Jennette P.

By far my favorite sushi spot! The food is always fresh & tasty. I order the Zonie roll & exstasy roll off of their special menu. These rolls are large & unique in presentation & taste. I also enjoy having the titanic roll & crunchy spicy tuna roll. I have never been disappointed with the sushi here. I highly recommend this spot. It's a family owned business & I have been going there for over 5 years now. I will continue to go as long as they stay open.

  • Paul C.

A very welcoming place. Greeted by the staff upon entering. I felt very comfortable, almost like home. A nice looking place. Very relaxing. Service was great, very nice waitress. The food....well.....probably the best sushi I have had in the area. The fish is fresh, the rolls are very good. Even the miso soup was quality. It was such a good environment, I am gonna eat here a lot more.

    (4)
  • Ethan Y.

It was okay... The sushi was alright, but the fish was not super fresh. I'm not sure if I'd visit again. I'd try Matsuri bc its better i think. It is much closer to Miami.

    (3)
  • Margot B.

I've been here many times and invariably order the same thing...the sushi & sashimi combo. The fish is always fresh and the portions generous. Friends of mine who have been to Japan also agree, this is undoubtedly the best Japanese restaurant in the Kendall area.

    (5)
  • Sandy T.

Actual Japanese people work here! Very cute small place and they are very nice. I always order the spicy crunchy tuna roll because it is the best sushi roll the have! I would give them 5 starts but their selection is very limited.

    (4)
  • Mark E.

Nice little hole in the wall Japanese restaurant. I've visited many sushi places in Miami and this is easily in the top 3 (if not #1). Their food is delicious, large portions and very inexpensive. The entire place is very authentic. Everyone, including waiters, speak Japanese. Come try Fujiya out and you'll never want to go anywhere else.

    (5)
  • Ellie L.

I tried, tried and tried... And I actually feel bad for not liking this place :( Everybody seems to like it but I don't... I mean it's everything I like: small place, welcoming, authentic and cozy. But there's one waitress that WILL mess up our order!!! Every time!!!!! Everything!!!! Food is TERRIBLE the only good food is sushi, yakisoba was crap, my husband tried the ramen and it was sooo BAD... Publix sushi is less trouble...

    (1)
  • Sergio S.

Probably the one of the best sushi spots in Miami. Reasonable prices, small and quaint. Even the miso soup is better than everywhere else. Give this place a try if you want great sushi without the wow factor of other restaurants. They even have OToro (fatty part above tuna belly) exquisite!

    (4)
  • Lauren T.

I have been going to Fujiya since I could hold chop sticks and eat solid food! Their staff is so welcoming and friendly. The staff always goes the extra mile for their customers. The food is always consistent and delicious. I think their fish is the freshest in Miami. Everything on the menu is delectable. Their sushi boats are works of art. The resteraunt is small, so on busy nightS, try ordering take out. And if you bring a friend who doesn't eat sushi, their teriyaki and tempura is fantastic.

  • Jessica B.

Came here on saturday night with friends that had previously been here and it was really good. The server we got was hidious and he didnt know much, We got the pork and shrimp shumai, green salad, the zoonie roll, the tuna tataki roll and my husband got the spicy chicken which he loved. Finally he got the cheesecake tempura which he is still talking about. Prices were pretty good, definitely will be going back.

When you walk in, they all greet you like you're a great friend visiting. "HEEEEEY!!!!! HELLOOO!!!!! COME INNN!!!!" Because of this.. I am obsessed. Food is great. Prices are great. Servers are amazing with ONE exception: the guy that works there is like always in a rush to turn tables. He serves the right side of the restaurant. So don't sit there. You will feel rushed. guaranteed. That's all.

Authentic Japanese cuisine. IT will not break your bank eating here. The staff is always welcoming. They have been there for several years. The portions are adecuate and the restaurant is cozy. They have a sit on the floor section for 4-8 people in the corner.

Very friendly customer service...borderline too friendly but i'll take it! My boyfriend and I visited this place on a random Monday night and there were people there and as the night went on more people kept showing up and that's always a good sign! We ordered the Miami heat roll and the scorpion roll and both were very delicious! The size of the rolls were big and plenty. You definitely got your moneys worth. They even provided hot towels int he beginning of the meal- I had never seen that before so don't mind my awe. All in all it was a good experience. They have an extensive menu and this place is purely Japanese so no Thai or Chinese dishes.

Well first time we went there after seeing review's here and now after more than two years we will only go to Fujiya for dinners and celebration's! We bring our family there and they was very impressed by the service, food and atmosphere! So what I'm try to say is that it's our Favorite place for sushi and my wife loves their food the same way! Their Specials are Special, Exstasy, dragon or Zion rolls all Incredible as All of their food!!! Their Sushi is consistently fresh. We recommend this place to every one for any occasion- anniversary's or just for lunch or dinner!

  • Samy F.

I absolutely love this place. It's run by legit Japanese people! The food is great. Love coming here for lunch. The lunch menu is not expensive and you get a lot of food. I have been to Japan and the food here resembles what I ate there. Also, the environment and the set-up of the restaurant feels sort of like it is in Japan. They will greet you when you come in and they will say bye when you leave. I did not give it a 5 star because even though the service is pretty good, there is this one server i truly dislike. It's the Hispanic guy. One time, I went with some friends to celebrate my boyfriend's graduation, and we got him as our server. He had to ask us a million times to repeat what we wanted. He also messed up on our orders later on. I also found him to be very rude. Additionally, one time he put a spoon that had a big piece of napkin stuck to it in my miso soup. If you get one of the Japanese ladies as your server, no need to worry. FYI: They close on the first Tuesday of every month.

I went when this place first opened and we had great sushi and service. The service is just as good as day one, but the quality has gone downhill. Bugs were flying around, fish eggs on the ice, and a bug in my girlfriends salad. Later that evening I got sick from the sushi and she told me what she found in the salad. I hope this review makes them reflect on their food safety because I'm very disappointed in a place I use to love.

I used to come here a lot about 5 years ago (before I moved away for college) and it USED TO be good. I recently went to Fujiya twice after returning from school. Boy was it CRAP! Visit #1: I ordered the sushi roll with the tempura flakes on top of it. The flakes were STALE and the sushi was just mediocre. Bleh. The miso soup tasted flavorless. The salad was the best part of my meal that day. Visit #2: I ordered the soft shell crab roll. OMG! They burnt the sh*t out of that crab!! It tasted horrible. I was so mad that I returned it and I didn't order anything else. The worst part about visit #2 is that they had this Hispanic guy as my waiter and he didn't speak a LICK of English. Why would they hire him as a server in a JAPANESE RESTAURANT? He didn't understand anything I was saying and vice versa. When I told him I wanted to send back the crab rolls he just smiled, left the crab rolls on the table, and walked away. I was like ummm hello......where are you going?? Finally when my sister explained (in Spanish) what I wanted to do he apologized and said that they have a new chef and that he "might not know how to cook crab." WTFFFF??? Why is he cooking my food then? UGH. The end. Rant over.

we love this place. the sushi is fresh and prettily presented, but best of all they have real fresh ramen!!! coming form NYC, i was so excited to find a place nearby that had it - they only have one, but it's delicious and so comforting! the service is so, so friendly and warm - even if the food wasn't so good, i'd feel a little guilty going anywhere else for sushi!

My family and I have been going to Fujiya since the late 90's and the food has always been fresh and delicious with great service! It's a small intimate restaurant with a real taste of Japan's best. First of all, immediately upon entering you will be welcomed out loud by the waiters and sushi chefs and upon leaving you will be thanked for coming! It's a personal touch that has remained the same since the 90's!!! I've had numerous dishes there but my personal favorites are the Oscar roll, the Crazy roll and the vegetable & shrimp tempura. The ginger dressing that comes with the house salad is also a MUST! I've been to my fair share of japanese restaurants and no one tops their ginger salad dressing. The lunch bento boxes are also a great deal! The pork katsu is my husband's personal favorite when getting the lunch bento box deal. All in all, their food is fresh, real and yummy!!! I highly recommend FUJIYA!

Great food, and superb service! The staff is very friendly. It's not on the menu, but the takoyaki is amazing

You can never go wrong with Fujiya. Order anything off their menu and it's guaranteed to be fresh and delicious. This local family spot beats many sushi spots. My absolute favorite is their Ecstacy Roll; a perfect balance of savory sushi, tempura with just spicy mayo and eel sauce. I also like their Florida roll (tuna tataki roll! Yum). It's always good and never a let down.

This is by far one of the BEST Japanese restaraunts I have been to. Their sushi is so addictive. You can taste how home made and fresh it tastes. The staff makes you feel so welcome and their prices are ultra affordable. I boldly recommend it. It is another place you have to check out over and over again if you live in West Kendall. They will make a regular out of you. Try the tuna lover roll!

This is a quaint little restaurant that one would expect little from, but who knew they were this good. I walk in the waitresses are very pleasant filled with warm smiles and a politeness missing all too often in this world. I go to my staple roll, crunchy spicy tuna roll. I order it so often they usually remind me what I order. The kimchee sauce they put on top is a nice touch and the roll itself is fresh and light just the way I like my sushi. They never disappoint and are very consistent with their product.

I was in the area and yelped in response to a sushi craving. Ended up here after reading positive reviews. Boy, was it not what I expected. Bleck! I ordered one of the deluxe lunch boxes with California roll, sushi, sashimi, and chicken teriyaki. First off, I ordered no whitefish and it came with whitefish, secondly, the fish was, well, fishy! Did NOT taste fresh, I could not even finish 1/4 of the box. The teriyaki was bland, VERY bland.. In a nutshell, I left disappointed, with an uneasy stomach (eek), and paid $18 for it! Ugh....

I generally base my initial surroundings, with previous experiences and it's environment, meaning how many idiots surround that area. So when I was asked to go to Fujiya by an old friend, I was hesitant, as West Kendall is an idiot rich environment, and I had an ex-G/F who raved about the place. So Fujiya really had something to prove. Sure enough, and to know one's surprise, my first idiot. The parking idiot! some jerk had to park his truck and utilize two spaces, and I so badly wanted the space right in front of Fujiya, in case I needed a quick getaway. You also know this little vaquero, doesn't know how to drive, so he buy's a truck. Look at any Hummer driver and you'll find a psychiatric nightmare! Well I parked just a little ways away, not really a problem, just that environment thing working. Would the fear of running into Satan overcome me, I felt the bile begin to rise. Once you survive the journey, it's not bad inside. A quaint little restaurant, who's staff greet you with a cheery smile and genuine friendship. I found a table and waited for my friend, and waited and waited. Maybe Kendall traffic killed him, or the idiot in the truck accidentally of course ran over his foot. So I ordered Edamame, to sit back and wait some more. Upon his arrival he was greeted with great esteem, as apparently he was a regular. I found the service to be genuine and kind, even without him. I ordered the LA Roll, and a Crunchy Tuna Roll, my friend ordered a combo lunch, of grilled salmon, california roll, and chicken katsu. The orders came out promptly and my two rolls were excellent. Large, and substantial, I liked the LA Roll the best. ALso I ordered the rolls with brown rice, and they were glad to oblige me. His order came and it too was excellent. I can't complain. That ranting satanic ex-girlfriend didn't come in my fears subsided, life was good. As I exited I realized I was back in West Kendall, some idiot in a black suburban that said "Jorge and Betty" on the back, of his massive wagon, had parked in the middle of the parking lot blocking my pal, and at least three others in. I'm glad idiots like that advertise. I guess they use it incase Jorge or Betty get lost. The can just point to there names and look stupid. I wish Fujiya were in South Miami, or Coconut Grove, civilization can do a restaurant good, and this place was very good!

Loved this place. The service is fantastic, and I love practicing Japanese with one of the young ladies who served us our meal. Very polite and funny, God bless her ! (I didn't get her name :( We got the Chicken Katsu and Teriyaki Chicken which were amazing! Loved it, and the salad is real good with the ginger dressing they give you. It's a nice, small place that really gives you that taste of Japan (even with J-Pop music playing when I was there) which was a treat. So yeah, come check it out, and practice your Japanese while your there just for fun. Even the sushi chefs look all serious, typical Japanese style lol.

I will start off by saying I have been coming here for years, and have dragged every one I know there at some point. I love the service, they make you feel as if you are a part of their family. They always give you a super cheery welcome as you walk in the door, and have never failed to say good bye as you walk out the door. Everything I have had has been consistently good. Not that I've had everything on their menu (which is huge), but I've had enough things that even if I try something I don't like I can just go back to my favorites. My boyfriend and I constantly come here for a bowl of udon and a roll of sushi. Before this became my usual, I would always have the miso soup which has spoiled me. No where have I had a better bowl (not that I've been to Japan, but you get me). Once on a trip to New York I had miso soup at every single stop we made and I could barely stomach it after having had the goodness served at Fujiya. I also once tried having a bowl of udon at a different Miami Japanese restaurant (NEVER AGAIN!). All of the rolls I've tried have been well balanced and fresh tasting. The steak teriyaki is actually amazingly good... which is something I never expect out of teriyaki anything. Also great for carry-out... nothing better than a hot bowl of udon at home on a rainy day. The location sucks, but hey, at least there is plenty of parking. As long as I am in Miami I will continue coming here.

I've been coming here for years. It has some of the best sushi I've ever had. I love the Mexican roll and their eel over rice bowl is good to.

The first time I ate at Fujiya was about 11 years ago, and I was so surprised at how good this place was. It's in a strip mall and from the outside, it did not look like much, but I loved the interior /atmosphere, and food. Every time I came to Miami, I would always pop in here and I was always pleased. A few days ago, I was craving Japanese and decided to order from Fujiya. What a disappointment! The sushi was awful, California rolls were bland and so small, it was ridiculous, the tempura was cold and tasted old. Should I keep going? Awful, just awful. Maybe they were having a bad day, but after spending $30 on food, I don't know if I want to give them another chance.

It's a small family own restaurant. Anyone might simply pass by and don't even know it's existed on kendell Dr. Recommended dishes: katus don and hamachi karma.

There is no better sushi restaurant for lunch. Excellent service. Tasty food. Very affordable prices. I eat lunch here 3-4 times a month and have been doing so for over 10 years. I have NEVER been dissapointed. Between the friendly staff, quality food and great prices, what's not to like? Dinner is a bit more expensive and I honestly don't do dinner here much. I'll often swing by at lunch time to pick up dinner! Same food, better prices. They do accomodate large groups and are capable of keeping the saki flowing if you have a rowdier bunch of folks (this is a nice place for a birthday dinner for a group of sushi lovers).

Great food at great prices! This small restaurant is located at the corner of a busy shopping center. Was blown away when I ordered the hamachi kama and the katsu don. Katsu don came out first, and was excellent. However the flavor of the hamachi kama and presentation were even better! I would highly recommend this establishment. Service was excellent as well!

A hidden quaint Japanese restaurant on Kendall drive. It is a bit hard to find if you don't already know where it is. I have been going here for years and its one of those restaurants I have to go to when I visit home. The service is awesome. The Japanese ladies are the nicest people in the world. Some of the non-Japanese waiters are ok, but the japanese ladies are the sweetest things. They will remember you if you come back and become a regular. The food is fantastic. What I like about this japanese food is that it is not too oil like some other places. The miso soup is not too watery and they have a good sushi variety. The raw beef marinated in wine sashimi style is AMAZING. It also helps that htey have a kids menu. Where food is served bento style on a plane. It is sooo adorable. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to take someone out for a lunch/dinner in Miami.

Fujiya and I go way back. In fact, it's where I lost my sushi virginity years ago. Fujiya probably has some of the nicest employees out of all Kendall restaurants. They're very sweet, will remember you, thank you a hundred times for coming and provide you with some great service. Lately, the food has been slipping a bit, but I have faith they'll bounce back. At lunch, they have some pretty good lunch combos that come with soup or salad and a California roll and run you about 10 bucks...not too shabby! One of my favorite things to order though is the volcano roll. The dynamite is actually more spicy mayo than fish, and I happen to like it that way. The tuna tataki is always very fresh and usually part of my order, too. The only drawback here is that sometimes the food can take long to come out, even if they're empty--and parking can be a pain. It's in a busy strip mall next to a bank so you want to get there just before 12 to avoid the lunchtime bank crowd.

I have been coming to Fujiya as long as they've been open. A little bit of Japanese cuisine heaven in the hell that is Kendall. Grandma-san has always been there to give a cheery greeting and warm smile and bring you a little bowl of they're octopus/fruit salad appetizer. I call her this as she seems to be the matriarch of the family there and adds to the charm of the restaurant. Not much on their menu has changed over the years, with the exception of adding some new rolls. Nothing has needed to change, they have a good thing going. The restaurant itself is a small but comfortable size with a tiny little tatami room. The sushi bar is a good size and parking is available in the lot outside. There is almost never a problem parking. Occasionally on a weekend night it will be crowded, but nothing too bad. Their fish is always fresh and artistically done. I'm a big fan of the bagel roll, the tuna tataki and the chirashi. You can't really go wrong with any of the items. I can't really say much for any of their cooked or non sushi/sashimi items as that is all I eat when I am there. But my mom is not a sushi eater and eats the cooked items and in all the years we've been there has never had a bad anything. If you're in the area and looking for sushi and/or Japanese, please stop by and be sure to say hi to Grandma-san.

This is the best place to get sushi in the Kendall area, hands down. Reasonable prices, friendly service, and homey feeling. The dragon roll is amazing, just ask for cream cheese in it.

This is by far one of the best sushi places in Kendall, my bf and I go there very often. Their portions are very generous, and their prices are very fair for the amount of food that you get. One of their best roll is the ecstasy roll. Their tuna nachos are delicious, very flavorful and great as an appetizer. They have a great selection of sake, if you like flavor cold ones try the apple-pear one. this is a great restaurant, the staff is very friendly and the food always comes out very quickly. We love this place! You can't really go wrong with it.
